First Month here!!

It's my first month here in the city of Hyderabad and surprisingly the weather has been kind to us!  Yes, I had to start with the weather..well that's what scared me the most, not the fact that we are moving away from Bangalore, or the fact I won't have any friends/family/acquaintances , but "Its going to bloody hot"!!  Guess, I'll just  have to wait for the dreaded summer to feel the real heat, until then, loving the nip in the air.

We have settled in fine, S's busy with new work, V's started with her play school, daily routine is set. I would have liked to have made some friends here by now but I guess that's going to take time. Evenings are the only time I can try and connect with adults, and it has to be in the park lol! I am not complaining , not yet :)!

Lets see what I discovered in my  very first month in the city of Nizam's

1. Neighbors are sweet.  We were welcomed  with sweets and greets on our floor the day we moved in, now, that never happened in Bangalore!! Could be because we moved in  just few days before Diwali, nonetheless it was a sweet gesture.Reminded me of good old Navy days,

2.   Parking here scares me to death. Even an most experienced driver would be, my poor car is
surrounded by Merc in front, BMW at the back and a Audi right next , I rather go hit my car to a wall then give a tiniest of scratch to these cars.  Thanks to the drivers, who are equally scared of me, I get a lot of help while parking lol.  Oh btw, you'll see a lot of car drivers here. What with likes of Merc ,Audi's one would rather be chauffeur driven than drive it themselves. Right?

3. Every second person that I have  bumped into  has either moved in from US/UK recently ( working in Google-Amazon-MS etc) or is into business and doing pretty good , well the cars in the basement are a testimony to that.

3. Most of the  kids here have a pronounced American accent,  at first I thought it was just a fad among the older ones, but then these tiny tots also have it!  It's just how all of them speak, I guess it's all  got to do with the  fact that they have returned from aboard and are going to international schools here. Or may be being new to the city , I am just paying closer attention to everything in plain sight.

4. Believe me ,when I say this, I am the only mother walking my daughter to the  park , the rest are all nannies.  The first few days I wondered if I was going out at the wrong time! It was only a week later, did I see someone other than the nannies with the kids. Bangalore was different.

5.Trust Zomato reviews! We haven't been disappointed with the restaurants so far.Food here is  not only awesome but freaky reasonable compared to Bangalore, You'll have to experience it to believe it.

6. Roads here are "A"wesome!! I can go on and on about the traffic and road....take a clue from "A"wesome. Its that good.

While my heart still lies in B'lore,  I am reaching out this city , my new life,Change always has a way to make it's place in your heart! Hyderabad I am here and I am all yours!!!

How will I grow?

The cutest thing happened a few days ago and it went like this  "But then , how will I grow ?"  Before I tell you all about it, let's rewind a bit,  It all started with Potty Training I know mommies, I have your attention now ! I started potty training Little when she was about 6 months old.  Now when you have the second one, most of you may agree with me,   you just want to replicate your successes you had with your first one.  You see  , Curious trained pretty quickly, I started with her when she about 2.3 years old.  By her 3rd birthday she was night time trained , like 0 diapers  except on long drives!    I got a wee bit ambitious with Little . As soon as she started sitting up, I decided to start her training. First step of course was buying the right potty seat, thankfully this time I knew exactly what I wanted, I had only two criteria should be soft on her butt and damn easy to clean. I scoured the internet , chec...

The fault in our stars

Two days ago I happen to watch  The fault in our stars  , one of S's rare recommendation!  Oh, what a lovely movie! You end up wanting to be utterly hopelessly in love, just like  one of my all time fav   you've got mail.  Meg Ryan, Tom Hanks, you just want to fall in love  over and over again Omg!! oming back to Fault in our stars,Hazel Grace, the  protagonist played by Shailene Woodley is also the narrator, walking us through her story  & Oh,what a lovely sexy deep voice she has .There is so much depth yet softness in her voice that I instantly fell in love it.  S creenplay is the star here, simple story beautifully woven through the eyes of two teenagers, such brilliant effortless acting , that you are just drawn into their lives from the very first scene.    It's not the end , it's the chemistry, innocence, pain of the characters that really makes your heart go all warm and fuzzy. I am sucker for quotes   '...

You are just done!

"Losing respect for someone, is always a weird thing ,you don't hate the person, you just don't feel the need to ever speak to them , again or even think about them in the same way.  You are just done" How apt is this? Please raise your hands or rather give me a  thumbs up👍 (courtesy zoom meetings!). How many of you have felt this way ? One too many times perhaps? These lines are not written by me, but it resonates with me, as to how I have been feeling off late. It  summarizes the hell out of one those peculiar situations you find yourself in.  Lets put things into perspective.  I have a story to tell, rather a long arduous one with all the drama , one which I would love for you to read about one day. Not today , not in this post.  Here is the gist though, I met someone, got tad too friendly  ( no one to blame here, that's me ) , got tad too excited ( things just panned out pretty well between us  or so it seemed at that time ), got too carried...
