S and V were already out and heading for the stairs. I rushed out of my 18th floor apartment, not before grabbing the keys and an old sweater that was lying around thank god for common sense.
It was the fire alarm,it had been on for good 5 minutes. The first reaction ,was that of dismissal, Could be a false one. Ever since V's birth,we are conscious of safety rules, so when the alarm refused to stop, we rushed out without giving it another thought.
An hour later, 18 floors below out in the open, we all waited for the security to assess the situation. Tada...It turned out to be a false alarm, from what little I remember, there was this theory that one of rat had chewed on to the fire alarm wire, that had set the alarm off! Oh Come on! For once in my life, I followed the safety protocol to the T & It turns out to be false alarm!!
What happened when I reached down will definitely make it to my top five "Most Embarrassing Moment" in your life!
In all this chaos, I decided to step out in my sleep wear as did everyone else! Its just that I was in this oversized faded pair of shorts and equally oversized rag old tee, how can I forget monstrous size footwear . It was my fav pregnancy shorts/tee I wore them when I was 22kgs overweight,It had worn out from every possible angle . Oh, the chappals , they belonged to S, In all the commotion I couldn't find mine so I grabbed his, how convenient, but of course he's a size 11 and I merely a size 3. Getting the picture eh?
All my mommy friends and kidoos had rushed down too, ,It didn't help their dress were not only coordinated but also fit them perfectly! And if that wasn't enough there was this lady she had this sexy yoga/night pants on, with a super sexier tee that just fit right, and the hair, Omg it seemed like she was just about to enter a party!! WTF. Seriously? You sleep in that? Or you just had the sixth sense to be ready just incase there is a fire!!
I felt all eyes on me, Care to explain ? Awkward!! Oh, I just wanted to shrink and disappear into oblivion!!
I did have a good laugh afterwards though! After this episode, I have decided, come what may, I'll always check myself out in the mirror and change into something decent before stepping out ;D, 5 seconds that's all it should take right ;) ?!
The fire will just have to wait, Ms. Chikodi isn't ready yet!!
