The Year of 2014

2014 was a year of lot of changes for me, this post is more of personal note to self, years later I would like to relive the moments of  the year gone by, the year of Twenty Fourteen.

On professional front,

-After working  for a decade in HP, I decided to call it quits, It wasn't an easy one to make, but one that needed to be done. In the hindsight, I think its one of the better decisions  that I took , which metamorphosed into many new opportunities for us as a family.

I finally did the PMI certification, damn it was expensive!I haven't studied this hard since engineering.

-S landed a job in one of  the dream companies. We were no longer part of HP family, It was time to fly away and find a new nest  sounds so poetic  eh ? lol

Your life doesn't get better by Chance,it gets better by Change.

On a more personal front,

-After 10 years in  bangalore, my city,  I moved to a new city with no friends no relatives and no job! The city has been generous though, so far my stay has been nothing but pleasant.

-She shed tears for me!!! Or was it plain exhaustion? This was history being made, Trust me! My move to Hyderabad, got her realize my true worth *grin*. This will definitely haunt A for the rest of her life.

-Finally followed my passion for dance and joined Zumba classes! One hour of pure adrenaline rush enjoying every minute of it while swaying to sound of music. You can read all about it here. Alas, it didn't last for too long. Though I did join Power yoga after Zumba,This was an eye opener. I enjoyed Yoga more than Zumba. *Woohoo*

-She loves Blue ,she loves Green and she just adores ferns, Meet R ! Though we met in late 2013, we really hit off in early 2014. We found ourselves exchanging notes on endless baby worries  ended up forging a wonderful friendship. Glad to have found her!

- 30 days of pure bliss with ma & pa. Long over due holiday, where all I did was eat, sleep and shopp sans  the work.

-Arihaan, my little nephew made his grand entry into this world on Sept 17th! The gals were dominating the family clan, finally we have a boy *grin*.He's going to be pampered rotten

-HeartBroken.I lost my uncle,my mother her brother to a horrible accident just a couple of weeks back.

V's moments,

Being a mom to a chirpy little two year old, its soo easy to write endless posts  on her daily escapades , But I have consciously decided to keep  this a V free blog, occasionally maybe a post or two will make its way here, but thats it. In  2014, we achieved some major milestones when it came to V  and they do require a special mention here.

  - We were so worried for her , when she was prescribed earlier in the year, but she surprised us, they may be tiny in size but their will and strength will put you to shame... That apart  she's looks super cute in them *mwah*

-V started playschool , all our fears as first time parents were put to rest! she took to it  like fish does to water. No fussing,no crying! One more milestone scratched off the list.

-She finally made her first trip to her dada-dadi's house in Rajasthan, What a grand welcome she got!

-Mickey mouse made a grand entry in her birthday party and that just stole the show. A month of planning ,all the sweating finally made sense, her party was grand success.

-After 28 months since V's birth,  finally  the 3  of us watched an hour and half  movie  in a theater on a busy saturday afternoon.!! V sat through the entire movie, no running around, no loud wails. Priceless. It has been such a struggle trying to a catch movie in theater, V just refused to cooperate until now. Aww my small girl's all grown up *so proud*

Enjoyed watching,

Game Of  Thrones, TV series;  Mind blowing series, love the complexity of the characters. My new fav  is Tyrion Lannister, wow, what a character. I have been so impressed by GOT, that  even started reading the book *grin*

Sherlock, TV series. Benedict Cumberbatch! OMG!!!

Yeh hai Mohabbatein; I just enjoy it, Don't ask why and how? Its a hindi serial, just a little more realistic in terms of characters and less over the board vampish characters. I need a dose of hindi series every year :)

The fault in my stars, Movie; I wrote my first post on this one.

Now you can see me,I enjoyed it more because of . I loved him in Social Network, plus the movie had a pretty good story line Unlike Dhoom 3!

Around the world in 365 days,

While news is made all around the year,  here are some of them that affected me personally.

--NaMo wave, what  a wave it has been. Its probably just hiring a great PR agency. Whatever be it , The energy has been more than positive. He has been all over the news, even mesmerizing the West.

-The massacre of hundreds of children in Peshawar on Dec 16th. The senseless brutal inhumane act of killing innocent souls for revenge! Enough has been said about it, but no words can fix the broken hearts of the parents who stood outside the campus hoping against hope. You slap me, I slap you harder! When would this end?

-Malaysian flight tragedies. It's like someone had done crazy voodoo magic over the malaysian airways or anything leaving/entering their skies.

“This is a new year. A new beginning. And things will change.”

― Taylor Swift

That pretty much summarizes my note to self! Happy new year to all of you! Here's wishing you oodles of smiles and hugs for the year.

How will I grow?

The cutest thing happened a few days ago and it went like this  "But then , how will I grow ?"  Before I tell you all about it, let's rewind a bit,  It all started with Potty Training I know mommies, I have your attention now ! I started potty training Little when she was about 6 months old.  Now when you have the second one, most of you may agree with me,   you just want to replicate your successes you had with your first one.  You see  , Curious trained pretty quickly, I started with her when she about 2.3 years old.  By her 3rd birthday she was night time trained , like 0 diapers  except on long drives!    I got a wee bit ambitious with Little . As soon as she started sitting up, I decided to start her training. First step of course was buying the right potty seat, thankfully this time I knew exactly what I wanted, I had only two criteria should be soft on her butt and damn easy to clean. I scoured the internet , chec...

You are just done!

"Losing respect for someone, is always a weird thing ,you don't hate the person, you just don't feel the need to ever speak to them , again or even think about them in the same way.  You are just done" How apt is this? Please raise your hands or rather give me a  thumbs up👍 (courtesy zoom meetings!). How many of you have felt this way ? One too many times perhaps? These lines are not written by me, but it resonates with me, as to how I have been feeling off late. It  summarizes the hell out of one those peculiar situations you find yourself in.  Lets put things into perspective.  I have a story to tell, rather a long arduous one with all the drama , one which I would love for you to read about one day. Not today , not in this post.  Here is the gist though, I met someone, got tad too friendly  ( no one to blame here, that's me ) , got tad too excited ( things just panned out pretty well between us  or so it seemed at that time ), got too carried...

Sledding Day 2021

We finally checked off "sledding" from our bucket list of winter-things-to-do-every-year! Constant reminders followed by accusations of-being-unfair or no fair  topped with  extra drama from a certain 8 year old for over a month now, finally forced us into making that trip to   Leavenworth .  The drive was breath taking,  It's like one of those stunning winter wonderland kind of drive that you always watch in movie   and what made it perfect was that we had a visit from Mr. Sun himself.  It was gorgeous day to be out. Fun have she did. Just as Yoda would say it. Its a different thing, that  the way back home wasn't as much fun, having being stuck in a traffic jam for over 3 hours! Was it all worth it ? You bet , 2 hours of pure unaltered  fun for the girls and dad alike!  This would be the first year since we moved to the States in early January of 2016   that we have hadn't had a proper snow fall well   definit...
